All grown up.

The windshield used to be dusty,
when you can not see what was ahead of you,
you were free,
you looked at it with your heart
and every inch-roll of the tires,
moved you, excited you.

But while it was dusty you wished it was clean.
And now that it is, you wished it was dusty.
You cannot stay forever on never-neverland.

Now they are nothing more than numbers.
and you wish it could atleast feel so much more.

Some days you think it does, but then again it was never the same.

Kwentong Esprit

"What matters is not how you shamed yourself, but how you regained yourself"~~ chesilog. read on and find out.

I realized that the bloopers i get myself into started way back when i didnt know yet what to call it:

I was 10 years old or 9. I was playing running games with some kids my age at the Penthouse. "Touch Taya" has 2 versions; one is "Maramihang Touch Taya - If you're 'IT', everyone you can chase and tag "Taya" will also be "IT", The curse is contagious. The other one is simply the original version, you passed your curse to the person you have chased and tagged. (if you dont know this game, its probably because you were not raised in the Philippines, you are not Filipino, or maybe you had your own games) Anyways, We were having a short break and were still catching our breaths when one of the girls popped a question:

Girl: Anu ba yung mga favorite niyong brand?

And I, recalling we have a lot of Esprit branded things at home said aloud....
Che: ah...ako yung es-prittttttt. (with a strong diction to the sound of 't' as in pritttttt, Brad pitt prittttt ;p hahaha)

The girl immediately corrected my pronounciation...
Girl: Anong Es-pritttt??? Es-preeeee!!!!! basa don (Esprit) ! hindi Es-prittttt!!!

Nahiya naman ako to admit that i have been reading the brand wrong and so I just as quickly answered back...;p
Che: ESpreee nga!!! es-preeeee (es-pri') hinihingal pa kasi ako kaya nasabi ko lang es-prittt, pero es-preee nga alam ko!

Which Nakalusot naman. :) hehehe
I could say I was a pretty smart and funny kid. ;)
anu sa tingin niyo? :) hekhekeheke. ;p

The New Bob is Back

After 6 loOong months, I finally had my hair cut. I was hesitating at first, but i actually liked how it came out. I have a heart shaped, often mistaken as round shaped face.. so i have to make sure i get myself a cut that would not further emphasize my cheeks or the roundness of my face. If i weighed a little less, I could wear whatever hair cut and and I'd carry it off, but eversince I gained weight, I had to be more careful. I have ignored my hair was dull, limp and no style because I was scared that the probability of me ending up with a good cut VS. having my hair murdered/massacred was 1:5. I kept saying my hair was like 'weeds', they just keep growing. ;p I actually forgot how it feels like to wear you hair proud. And Today, I remember. :P

It feels good. I dont know if maybe its simply because of the minus weight off my neck and my head.

Ladies, If you have a round shaped face or heart shaped, go for the cut that would give our face imaginary edge or corners. Usually the complains are, my cheeks are too wide, my face looks fat especially in my ID pictures even when you're not really all that fat and you start thinking what more if you were?...they are all unhelpful paranoia, which i sometimes also tend to fall victim to. hehe ;p.

Cuts that elongate the face and reduce the roundness a little bit by hiding the cheeks a little, adding more volume to the top part of our hair, adding layers and wisps at the bottom part, bringing the focus to our eyes and even brows should help do the trick. Also, Dont be afraid to comment even while your hairstylist is already cutting away, if you think he/she is cutting too much or not, you may say so. Of course they wont always react positively, some will just look at you, nod their heads but aren't really listening. Others would simply ignore you or worst some may even feel insulted, but hey its your hair, save it while you can. Its not like they're cutting it for free and you were rude. Always be polite and nice, give a little encouragement to the person who is to cut your hair (or else, they might butcher your hair in revenge..ikaw rin :P) If you liked the cut, show it, if you did not then just be quiet, although you can show a little remorse on your face, wait until you get home, have a mirror infront of you and then vent it out "AaaaaAAAAhhhh!!!!" (except when they totally frankensteined your hair, maybe you could give the salon hell right then and there).

So what to do now? I usually turn to CoLoR. I always believe the right color could give it a little boost or if not, at least distract the beholder. Note: Avoid colors that would make you look cheap or colors that do bad for your skin tone. I have had my experience of ridiculously bad hair color that didnt work for me. I wore Japayuki-looking blonde, over-bleached hair once, so yellow you'd think im always at the end of the rainbow and the leprechaun is probably looking for my head for his bag of gold coins. ;p (in fairness to other people, they can carry off super blonde and look good, sometimes it just depends on the way your hair was colored, the distribution, the skin tone, and even your racial features) so anyways I tamed down my hair color crisis by applying a darker tone over it, which worked but my hair was already damaged due to too much-too soon application of hairdyes (you usually have to wait 3-4 months before dyeing your hair again). I remember the days when even on a strong windy day, not one strand of hair would budge to stray away, as if each strand was glued to the next, like a hairy helmet. Thankfully after a year or so, i regained a head of hair dancing to the tune of Pocahontas theme song "colors of the wind". :) Im no pro, and definitely not your hair expert, Im learning as I go myself.

Anyways,Its too bad i dont have a photo of me yet wearing my new bob, but i'll probably take some this weekend and upload it on Multiply. :)

We'll see

Hithit-Buga Day 1. It didnt take long before I started sneezing. The scent of his cigarette smoke was so strong, you'd think its trying to come alive and be named. It will probably take less than 2 hours for the office to become foggy. Goodbye O2, Hello Carcinogens. (HitHit-Buga,tiny particles of cigarette ash playfully roaming as possible allergen to any of us) Darating din ang Bukas,May Liwananag sa Dilim, Gulong ng Palad, Pangarap na bituin at Isabella. (haaaa? ano raw?). ;P I wish I could cover my nose with a hand and not be deemed rude. But Cherryl be strong. be strong. bear with it. :)

Anyway, I called up the school on my free time earlier today and discussed with Ms. Sol the possible arrangements, and Im still crossing my fingers Sir Denny will be in the mood to allow me to spend a day of the week for school.

"Imagine at my age..." Sharon Cuneta. (on going back to school herself)

Sigh. School. It'll be pretty challenging in the sense that I know people will again have something to say. hay hay hay buhay. And I on the other hand just want to keep focus as much as i can. :)

Dont be brittle peanut brittle, People will always have something to say - ang aking kunsensya. (on going back to school myself)

We'll see. we'll see.

---what to do---

I once said that i always know what i want, well what do you know right?,at the moment, I actually dont. I know i want to do a certain thing but i also know i do not want to compromise anything. It is giving me a really bad headache. I feel like all the fingers of my hands have strings controlling each angle in my life that i am forever trying to balance. It has always been easier to cut one of the strings. or two of the strings. or three. or four and so forth. But I cannot do it and will not do it. These are not just angles , these are angles of my life with direct effect to people i care for. If i sway wrong, If i sway it selfishly, I just might end up tangling up the strings.

what to do. what to do.

The Birthday Week

Thank God for birthdays that come around to tell me how long ive been living under grace. Side comment: I realized that Birthdays are also like countdowns, each year, friends who remember are narrowing down. and friends who do remember, are more special each year. :)
Ryan and I celebrated our birthdays last week.
No partying. Just us. :)

Happy birthday to us!

my cake was the usual chocolate cake, since i prefer no other flavor. :)
and for ryan, i got him sansrival.

***Ryan's Birthday.

Ryan's birthday fell on a monday. After work, I passed by Goldilocks and got him a cake. I bought 2 and 4 for his birthday candles, as a joke to say he's only 24, but not many people know the truth, senior citizen na si ryan hahaha ;p

It was raining that time and I had to protect the box of the cake from big drops of rain so I took a tricycle from the cakeshop to home, only to find out right after the engine motor ran that now i had to protect the cake from touching the insides of the box because the ride was jumpy and the road was bumpy.

I found him in our room and I smiled ' Happy Birthday '. He seemed pleasantly surprised, I think this is the first time I got him a cake. I lit the candles up and took photos of him holding the cake.
He told me " bakit 24 yung candila? nagtitipid ka noh?" and I, thinking he meant i got the candles for free, answered defensively " hoy excuse me 11.50 per number-candle yan noh " but what he was trying to say pala was, that maybe I was going to recycle the candle by using it again on that coming friday, on my cake, since i was turning 24 then. i laughed. I actually forgot i was turning 24. but came Friday and I did. :p Anyway we had dinner at President's Tea House, I forgot what he ordered, ako shempre the usual, sweet n sour pork forever-;p but not all the time, still depends if i feel like ordering sweet n sour. ;p (and for that long-life good luck traditional belief, we ordered an extra dish.., beef hofan. :))

Now My birthday.

Ryan was not around when the clock struck midnight. But He called me on my cel a few minutes before the clock went after cinderella.

I imagined the clock making very loud Ding-Dong sounds.. as the long and short hand of the clock met at the number 12. I took a bath. I felt like it was good omen to take a bath first thing on your birthday. Ryan was still out. He got home around 2am. He was out with the bosses. They are going out of the country again for basketball business, probably Korea. Anyway, We didnt get much sleep the night before because Czesca's flu was bad. Czesca was sick on my birthday and we took her to the clinic that morning. We spent the rest of the day watching over her, and a little of it i spent on cooking spaghetti, after that we took some pictures and had dinner.
Ryan and I also dropped by 168 that afternoon and I bought myself two tops and a pair of shoes.
Then we checked out the new supermarket 'Binondo Supermarket', and passed by King's bakeshop.

Another year older for both of us. Gurang-gutan na me. wAaaAAhh. ;p
We'll always be young at heart.

To complete the day, my birthday wishes are the ff: (just 3, although I think I'm entitled to 24 wishes hahaha :p)
1. good health
2. safety
3. More Blessings. (grace, love, etc)
