We took Czesca for her first haircut last Saturday. Cuts & Play- just across the street. I think this place lacked props. You wouldnt be able to see the interiors from outside. (there are tarpaulin posters covering the glass entrance.) They especially cater services for kids of different ages. When we walked in,some kids were sitting over some puzzle tiles on the corner of the place, just by the door ( are they not susceptible to dust that comes in during opening and closing of the entrance door?) . Anyway they were playing- i dont know what- as i wasnt really paying attention.
The idea of the whole establishment is good, but the interiors are not that impressive, although the personnels were accomodating enough. They had two seats in the form of cars. They had hung toys on the side as a handy distraction for kids who are too makulit. Different colorful shapes framed the mirrors on the wall, another addition of kiddy touch to the place, probably also meant to amuse the children. But I still think it is not completely child friendly, first of all because the area was too small. The cutting hair area and the children's play corner are on the same floor, too close to each other. The hair, etc could just fly to your children. The large puzzle tiles were just 2 or 3 pieces, making it too small for kids to play on, and being almost 100% sure the kids will end up playing directly on the floor, touch the floor with their hands, whatever- have their skin touch the floor. Same floor personnel and clients walk on by. If they have another room or a different room for play, that i was not able to confirm. I was too busy watching the lady shave Czesca's hairoff :P (grabe busy pa raw ako sa lagay na yan ha...:P)
She was gentle ,careful and sprinkled the right compliments. The big boo however is the old pink towellete they used to restrain hair from falling to Czesca's body and clothes, which they also had to clip using a metal elongated clamp just to secure. Resourceful? yes but classy? no. I guess we had the wrong impression we were going to a fancy children's salon. A plus on the other hand is the proximity and the cheap price of 100php. :) Okay na rin di ba? i wouldnt complain personally because its not like they asked me 600 php for the cut. Im just criticizing the potential which have been ignored as I believe. Hindi naman sa nag iinarte ako. But since their market is 'kids', their theme is ' for kids' The whole idea is 'kids' why didnt they push it to 100% kiddie satisfaction guaranteed and maybe earn themselves a name not just for those who has kids in the area, pero yung tipong dadayuhin ng sadya kahit ng mga taga- Ortigas. Maybe its the budget. Maybe Sabi ng may ari " ok na yan", maybe the goal was not to popularize the establishment or even legendize, but just to earn back the capital shelled out and just keep earning, surviving, maybe maybe. Sayang naman. Anyway, who knows baka naman they are planning to amplify-kiddify the place little by little in time.
If the owner ever reads this, dont massacre Czesca's hair yet on our possible next visit 6 months from now. This is good criticism. Nothing more. :) For the rate, I'll say 'Pwede na' but that you could have been "pwedeng pwede' . Huwag naman sana, worst ma banned- kami dun :)
Czesca is now officially kalbo, kasi dati mag-aalangan ka pa kasi medyo may buhok naman siya sa sides and sa likod, sa top front lang talaga very very thin. We had it all shaved off. anu ba yung term na ' dos' or ' kwatro' when it comes to kalbo, barbero terminology ba yun? di kasi namin nasagot.
