Toothpaste; hindi lang pang ipin, pang pimple pa :)

What do i do with my Pimples? ans: When a zit appears, I put a dab of moderate amount of toothpaste over it. I prefer the solid white toothpaste over the clear white, clear blue/ green/ tricolor gel like toothpaste. It is less sticky and feels more barely there. It's been a habit of mine to treat my pimples this way since Highschool. That once during sophomore year,my friends handed me this Esprit paper bag for my birthday, all the while my imagination was on x-ray mode thinking "It's a nice top... Its gotta be a nice top" haha when i pulled it out, it was a jumbo tube of Colgate white toothpaste. Thanks guys!

Toothpaste application should still be done with caution. You should never dab toothpaste on your pimple unless you are 100% sure that it is dry and not even moist to avoid burning the area, which will give your pimple a semi-roasted coating, that will rub off in a week or so. Also, applying too much amount of toothpaste on your skin will not make the zit go away any faster, it would instead result to a shiny-like-plastic skin looking texture which will eventually turn scaly looking before it heals back to its normal texture. I learned all these first hand by experience, so it is important you take proper caution before considering the method. Also, I may have come to believe that this is not for all skin types.

I was in my senior year in High school, my guy friend was having pimple problems on his forehead and asked me for some advice. Of course I shared the toothpaste PoWer Haha and told him to try it. He did. Unfortunately the next day, he came to school with polka dots on his forehead. (The case I mentioned above, when you put too much amount of toothpaste and when you apply it while your face is still moist, well he sort of combined that two neglections and ended up with dotted patterns on his face. :p ) He seemed disappointed in me and I haha felt sorry. I explained what went wrong and just told him that it has happened to me before and not to worry because it will fade and rub off in a few days. Weeks passed, but the dots were still there ;p uh-OH. His skin was the type to over protect itself and thus producing too much melanin. :P We graduated with these dots still on his forehead :P Thanks to me! (no permanent harm done, we saw each other again during college days and his face was cleared of the dots ;p)

I have been consistent with this method. Although I am aware that there is a risk it can dry up the skin, as the component which is responsible for reducing and even eliminating pimple redness is not formulated for the purpose of contact with the skin. Even so, I stuck with toothpaste. " Che baka tubuan ko na ng ipin sa mukha nyan ah?" " Che kulang na lang toothbrush" they joked. hehehe It was funny when Heart said that to me. Umuwi ka na oi!

But its not like Im the only one using toothpaste for a skin problem. I happened to be watching The Tyra Show the other night and learned that she also uses toothpaste as skin help for pimple attacks. I am not saying we disregard all others in the market and start using toothpaste as sole skin solution, but im saying every now and then it can be a good option too. Of course even Tyra would not rely entirely on toothpaste. :)

Wash your face with warm water first, applying your choice of trusted facial foam ,then wash it off with cold water. Dry the skin and then apply toothpaste. (moderately) It also helps if you pull your hair back to a ponytail or just keep it off your face. Do not apply like every hour or so. I prefer application before going to sleep. (also, anticipating which week of the month pimples are most likely to appear can also help, in my case, that's every first week of the month just about a week and a half before my period or less than a week during my period.)

If your face is itchy, never rub it with your palm facing your skin, Instead use the back of your palm if you must. Other cleansing toners can also be used before applying. Ponds, Olay Neutrogena,L'oreal , St. Ives can be relied on, no need to look for that exotic sounding brand. Cetaphil works too, but its too harsh on my skin (Ryan objects! He says Cetaphil is mild.correction Mildest. Case to Case basis naman palagi right?). 'Clean and Clear' is too moisturizing-makes my face feel oily afterwards. Gatsby Films for oily skin is also a good choice. Ice can also do its part when used at the right time. Okay thats it.

Fruit facials and sugar therapies etc etc - is another story. :) But are effective and just as rejuvenating when done properly. In everything keep yourself hydrated. :)
